We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our partners. Your support is invaluable to us and the families we serve.

Dompet Sosial Madani (DSM)

DSM_Logo_borderlessDompet Sosial Madani is a charitable organization that gathers tithes donated by Muslims in Bali and puts them to use in a range of social projects. Established in 2001 they manage and fund an orphanage, a community bank and a scholarship program, amongst other enterprises. Like RSM, most of the organizations supported by DSM arose out of Indonesia's Muslim community. Disadvantaged people within that community are DSM's priority, but they do not discriminate on the basis of faith.
DSM provides funding to RSM for the salary of one general practitioner and one nurse. Working with DSM also connects RSM with a wide network of individuals and organizations that provide RSM with advice and other support. One such organization is Layanan Kesehatan Madani.

Layanan Kesehatan Madani (LKM)

lkm_logoLKM is a medical clinic run by DSM and established with DSM funding in 2007. Like RSM, LKM provides free healthcare to disadvantaged people in Denpasar and is particularly committed to meeting the needs of Denpasar's Muslims.
Because they work with the same community as us, and in a closely related field, LKM is able to offer RSM invaluable advice and information based on their experience.
RSM and LKM are currently drawing up plans for a new clinic that will house the activities of both organizations.
Islamic tithes
All Muslims who can afford it have a religious obligation to contribute a proportion of their income to the needy. DSM is one of many organizations around the world that gathers these tithes and puts them to use. Although interpretations differ around the world on exactly how much each Muslim is obliged to contribute, DSM suggests one simple rule for all Balinese Muslims-  if a person's income is more than RP2,600,000 (approx. $US260) per month they are obliged to donate 2.5% of their income.

Australian Volunteers International (AVI)

AVI_Logo_smallAustralian Volunteers International has recently begun working with RSM. They provide us with long-term volunteers from Australia who have skills that RSM would not otherwise be able to access. Ollie Wigg is an AVI volunteer working at RSM as an English-language writer.
In the new year, AVI also hopes to place a volunteer midwife with RSM.

The Australian Consulate-General

The Australian Consulate-General in Bali
supported the purchase of an ultrasound machine for our clinic through a funding grant of Rp50,000,000. The contribution was part of the Australian Government's Direct Aid Program, which offers flexible, small grants in over 80 countries around the world.

Yayasan Bumi Sehat (YBS)

YBS-LOGOYayasan Bumi Sehat was the first gentle birth clinic in Bali. RSM's founder, Brenda Ritchmond, is also a member the YBS board and was instrumental in establishing the organization. She learnt a great deal about gentle birth by working at YBS with founder Ibu Robin Lim and her experience there has been invaluable in establishing and running RSM.
RSM and YBS continue to work together for the fulfillment of their common goals.

PT Mitra Kencana Amanah Jaya

PT Mitra  Kencana Amanah Jaya is a company that is based on enlightened business practices. It runs three cafes in Bali (Bali Buddha) focused on the development of organic farming in Bali. The company also established two recycling companies that operate across Bali. These are now independently owned and run.
PT Mitra Kencana Amanah Jaya provides generous monthly donations to various organizations whose work they believe in. One of the company's regular contributions is to RSM, covering the costs of establishing our organization and drawing up plans for our new clinic. They also cover the salary of one of our midwives.
The company was co-created by Paolo Righetti and Brenda Ritchmond. Brenda is also the Director and an assistant midwife of RSM. Her time is also donated freely.
